Botanicals - Metal Sculpture
Contemporary sculptor Christine Atkins presents a collection of eco art and installation pieces. These pieces entice the viewer to think deeply about the eco system starting from what surrounds us every day. The majority are constructed using common plants and natural elements found in our immediate suburban environments. The aim is to get viewer to stop and engage with their environments on a more intimate level with an appreciation for the plants and flora which make up our living world. In 2009 Atkins won the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize - Sculpture and objects category with her Botanical sculptures. Constructed by lost wax casting, electroforming and fabrication. |
